Smadar was born in Israel and lives there today.
The first song she ever recorded was “Last Night”, from the album “Smooth” by Guy Mantzur and Shay Por. It was distributed in the USA by Real Estate Record, purchased by HBO, and included in the soundtrack of the television series “Six Feet Under”.
During her studies at the Rimon Music Academy she performed as the soloist of the jazz band Jazz Download at many festivals and special events, then turned to writing and creating her own original material in Hebrew and English.
In 1996 she performed at the Israel Festival, the largest artistic event in the country, as the soloist of the Mosaic Project by Shmulik Noifeld and Eyal Leon Katzav.
Since then she has performed her own original material around the country, alongside songs by known Israeli songwriters such as Meir Goldberg, Asaf Amdurski, Shmulik Noifeld and Liran Nadel.
Smadar is the unique voice behind many soundtracks and commercials seen on Israeli television, among them the acoustic versions of “Like a Virgin”, “Raining Man” and “In a Manner of Speaking”, recorded for Hot cable television.
In March 2009 Smadar was honoured by Arik Einstein, the best known singer in Israel, to sing with him on his single “Kshetachzor” (When You Will Return). In May 2009 she was asked by the Austrian producers Hansi & Bonito to be the lead singer of the track “Under Pressure”.
